The Schools use a relational therapeutic approach focusing on the power of positive relationships to stabilize, heal, and promote personal growth. This process encourages the students to become self-confident and improve their ability to live and work within a community. Armstrong Unlimited, established in 2006 specializes in First Aid & CPR/AED Training, Staff Development Workshops sales & service of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDS), Risk Management & Safety, and Emergency Planning and Response Workshops. Maile S. Armstrong has worked in a variety of camp and business positions including director of youth camps since 1975.and has been responsible for planning and providing training sessions for camp, church, program centers staff, and volunteers.

Blue Ridge Scout Reservation:
Located in Pulaski County Virginia, the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation encompasses 17,500 acres of rugged beauty high in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For over 50 years, the Reservation has been a leader among Scout Camps, pioneering new and exciting programs, and providing thousands of scouts and scouters with a positive camping experience. The Reservation is open for three major seasons: Summer Camp, Year-Round Program, and Hunting Season.
Summer Camp For seven weeks each summer, the Reservation is home to over 10,000 youth and adults participating in our Base Camp and High Adventure Programs. We pride ourselves on offering activities appropriate for everyone in your unit regardless of age, needs, or goals. Our unparalleled programs are delivered by high caliber staff who are committed to delivering the promise of scouting and excellent customer service.
Year-Round Program At the close of summer camp, the Reservation reopens to provide opportunities for community, family, and unit camping. Whether participating in an Order of the Arrow Function, fishing in a Troutoree, or simply hiking with your Crew, the Reservation provides a safe and cost effective location to host all scouting activities. Beyond Boundaries:
Beyond Boundaries is a nonprofit that offers outdoor adventure opportunities to individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans, and individuals in recovery. We work hard on a two sided mission. 1. Increase access and opportunities to groups and individuals who don't typical have it. 2. Building our community stronger by having volunteers help with our programs, providing a space to see someone for their ability before their disability.

Appalachian Conservation Corps:
The Appalachian Conservation Corps (ACC) is a non-profit, AmeriCorps-affiliated organization whose mission is to connect young adults to meaningful conservation service. ACC engages motivated young adults, ages 16-29, to complete challenging and impactful conservation and service projects with a variety of land management agencies throughout the region. Projects may include trail construction & maintenance, habitat improvement, hazardous fuels reduction, backcountry support, re-vegetation and local environmental service projects. Crews may also complete technical and/or specialized projects depending on project partner needs, including disaster relief if the opportunity arises.
ACC programs focus on place-based learning, life skills development, appreciation of diversity, civic responsibility and career development. ACC also provides an opportunity for participants to learn about the local environment, environmental issues and introduces individuals to recreation and resource management careers.
WILD GUYde Adventures:
"Since 2004, WILD GUYde Adventures has been leading wild caving, rock climbing and canoeing adventures for families, school and university programs, parks and recreation departments, and scout troops in the Shenandoah Valley, along Virginia's Blue Ridge, and in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. Our Adventure, Learning, and Leadership INstitute (ALL IN) provides action consulting, experiential leadership development and team-building for corporate groups and non-profits to build toward effectiveness and success."
Roanoke GO Outside Festival:
The Go Outside Festival, sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is an annual event to encourage healthy, active outside recreation. By combining the things outdoor enthusiasts love - camping, music, gear, races, and demos all in a beautiful outdoor setting – GO Fest is a celebration of everything outdoors. Roanoke GO Fest is a partnership between the nonprofit Roanoke Outside Foundation and the City of Roanoke Department of Parks and Recreation. Watch pro BMX stunt shows, learn to fly fish, demo a mountain bike, test your balance on a slackline, try out some climbing shoes, learn some wilderness first aid, test your balance on a SUP, crawl into your ent, enjoy a craft beer or two, listen to killer music, then wake up the next morning and try something new. Ride a big wheel, learn how to fix your outdoor gear, enter the Wild Gear Chase, watch the lumberjack show, watch the ultimate air dogs, build a custom headlamp, chill out in an ENO hammock, play a round of disc golf, enjoy a beer or two while listening to music, crawl into your tent, then up the next morning and try something new.
RVA Paddlesports:
RVA Paddlesports offers whitewater rafting and kayak instruction on the James River in Richmond, Virginia. Discover the class III/IV rapids with great views of the city skyline and riverside park. Our award winning kayak school offers beginner to advanced whitewater instruction for all ages. Let us share our river with you!

Chanco on the James:
Chanco on the James has one of the most successful youth camping programs in Virginia. The camp program has been running continuously since 1968 and is accredited by the American Camping Association.
Downriver Canoe Company:
We are a well established medium size river outfitter operating in a remote little corner of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, just about an hour’s drive west of Washington DC. We offer canoe, kayak, raft, and tube float river trips on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River, a gently flowing mountain river.
